After Xerxes’ mother heard of her husband’s maniacal plan to create a new universe in his own image, she decided that the already inattentive workaholic had finally gone over the edge. Distraught and fearful that she and her child would get caught up in Cyrus’s outlandish schemes, she left him to his own insane devices and left Sinnoh for good.
They travelled far and wide, arriving eventually at the distant land of Cuaro, where they settled in the awe-inspiring, yet politically unsettled city of Redwood Grove.

Xerxes therefore grew up surrounded by cutthroat businessmen and hard-nosed entrepreneurs that acted as surrogate father-figures for the young boy and he soon developed, under the watchful eye of his mother, into an intelligent young man. More intelligent, or so it seemed, than his infamous father, for he frequently contemplated Team Galactic’s downfall and the reasons for his father’s plan’s failure after he and his mother learned of the upheaval that took place in Sinnoh and the flaws seemed to present themselves to him with ease.

He did, however retain one grain of respect for his estranged father in his inherited love of ancient history, which he studied avidly, and he soon learned many of Cuaro’s ancient and mysterious tales. In his spare time Xerxes began to practise many forms of Pokémon-battling and self-defence and studied Kendo and Aikido religiously whilst building a formidable team of Pokémon, which he recognised as valued partners.
During his studies as young man, the now ambitious businessman learned of the legend of a meteorite that carried a legendary Pokémon that could control the balance of power to Earth.

Seeking ultimate influence and power in the tempestuous political climate of Cuaro, and a new answer to his father’s old plans, Xerxes set up an underground exploration company with the front of the Gemini Mining Corporation to search for the meteor beneath the Lithos City Crater - where he was sure the meteor had landed. Little did he know that the legend he had read was incomplete; the indigenous people knew that the meteor had never delivered its load whole, and that without the forces of Balance, Chaos had been slowly spreading in Cuaro for centuries. All that the encroaching darkness needed was for a foolish human to help it along the way - and then history was surely doomed to repeat itself.
